I am Sheila, born and resident in Barcelona. Pedagogue by profession, with experience in schools and passion for teaching. My other passion is traveling and learning about other cultures, and I consider myself totally in love with my city, Barcelona. I have worked altruistically as a non-professional guide, and now I would love to show you my city and its Roman heritage through my eyes. Do you dare to have a good time?
The BEST cultural EXPERIENCE, touring unique settings of the Roman legacy in the city of Barcino. We will make a walking tour visiting the following places: Roman wall, Sepulchral Way, Temple of Augustus, Porta Praetoria, Roman aqueduct. Each participant will have a map of Barcino to be able to follow the experience with greater ambience. Welcome to Barcino! In the 1st century BC, the Barcino colony was founded, underlying the great Tarraco, chosen by the Romans as a strategic point to control ports and possible invasions. With just 1.5 km in radius, the new city ends up unseating Tarraco, reaching approximately 5,000 inhabitants 300 years later. The Roman influence is and has been very present in our culture until Barcelona today. The presence of Roman culture has left traces that we will see during the tour, both monuments and cultural elements. Let's go there!
We will meet at the Jaume IC / Argenteria metro exit
