We are Discover Walks: Europe's #1 for custom and private tours. When you pick a tour, you ask yourself: does it rate high? But you can also ask: will they both show me the must-see landmarks and “take me backstage” for a taste of the real city? Do they keep their groups small, with good facetime with the guide? Will my guide be not some expat, but a true local with a passion for her/his hometown? A guide able to give me more than just facts, dates and figures? In other words, will I be just another tourist? Or will they “lift the curtain” for me? Discover Walks creates tours that include both the tourist must-sees and locals’ hidden gems. We select guides who are true locals with great personalities. We train them to be engaging and personable and to tell a story well. We keep our groups small, by adding an extra guide when necessary. Welcome on our tours!
Beat the crowds and visit the Prague castle at 10am. Enjoy the magic of Europe's largest castle before the crowds get there. This tour includes the castle's must-sees: Saint Vitus cathedral, Parliament, the presidential residence, the presidential guard, and the royal garden. This tour also includes the castle's "backstage": the Communist confession chambers, the "red light" lane of olden days, the logistical quarters of the castle etc. We also make sure to cover the human aspect: what did the Communists do try and stop Vaclav Havel? What did Havel do at the castle right after he became president? How do locals of Prague feel about the castle? Leading this tour is a born-and-raised local guide, selected and trained by Discover Walks. To see more on this walking tour, we do not spend time going inside each building.
We meet on "malostranske namesti" plaza, outside Starbucks. Guide wears pink vest. Closest metro is Malostranska, and many streetcar lines stop here. (you need a streetcar ticket for this tour, or bring CK24 and buy your ticket aboard).
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
