Tour description
On this tour you will learn a large part of the history of Madrid from the Muslim origins of the town in the High Middle Ages to the period of greatest splendour of the reign of the Austrians and the Bourbons.
Starting at Plaza de Isabel II or Plaza de la Opera and, after a brief historical introduction to the capital, we will visit the most beautiful and traditional squares of historic Madrid, such as Plaza de Oriente, Plaza de la Villa, Plaza Mayor or Puerta del Sol.
Along the route we will also see the exterior of different churches of medieval origin, as well as other temples from later centuries in the Baroque style, such as the Church of San Nicolás or the Church of the Sacrament.
We will also stop in front of a good number of palaces and stately homes that are found in the different streets and squares of the Madrid of the Austrias, such as the Palacio de Uceda, the Casa de la Villa or the Palacio de Santa Cruz, as well as in front of some representative buildings of the Bourbon era, such as the imposing Royal Palace.
