Hello everyone! I'm Rubén, official tour guide and guru of Madrid;), I'm 28 years old, I like to be called Rubens, I consider myself a "cat" (native of Madrid). I also collaborate with friends and family who help me on a timely basis with reservations. I have a degree in tourism and halfway through my history degree and at the moment I'm self-employed. I started to fall in love with the profession in 2019 thanks, in part, to my friend Aurora, but from 2020 onwards I worked with arkeotour which is a company that also helped me a lot, and then in 2021 I started doing the tours on my own and trying. You must keep in mind that Madzguía has only been active for a short time and many times the minimum number of necessary attendees is not reached, starting, as you well know, is not easy at all. I'm a fun guy, I consider myself close to people and I love exchanging opinions with travelers, since they can bring you experiences without having traveled outside of Madrid. I have travelled a bit around Europe and that has helped me to love this job, because in every corner there is always a story to tell and I think Madrid is a perfect city to teach all kinds of tours. It is a city full of life where everyone feels at home, for me it is one of the best cities in Spain and one of the best in the world. I have experience as a local guide, but I am very passionate about my job and I like to teach and explain events, for me it is the ideal job. That is why I think being able to work in my own city doing something I like as a local guide is a privilege.

Welcome to this tour that will take you to discover Madrid!

This tour reveals at various points some secrets of the origin of the city. It is a very enjoyable tour in which you will see a large number of places and monuments spread out along a route that runs through the ancient heart of Madrid or "Magerit". It is a city with 1200 years of history that began in a small Arab fortress and has ended up being one of the most metropolitan cities in the world with approximately 3 million people. How has it evolved so much? Find out with Rubens. Few cities in the world have such a varied evolution as "Magerit". Although it is a route based on the Madrid of the Austrias, you will see enclaves from the early days of Madrid when it was a small town, you will also see buildings and monuments from the reign of the Bourbons such as the Royal Palace. Many funny characters have passed through here, very top characters... We will talk about kings, food, customs, legends... With a particular touch of humor.
