MARRAKECH Free Walking Tour: The Heart of the Old City Medina, its History and Plenty of Local Tips

Welcome first to Marrakech, we are looking forward to showing around our beautiful exotic city. In this walking free tour we will cover the hidden gems and some of the highlights of the red city. Please note that the main goal of this tour is to cover the cultural and historical aspects of the city. An overview of the city's most popular historical landmarks will be provided to anyone planning to visit them later.
Tour Highlights: First you will visit the amazing Koutoubia Mosque with its beautiful minaret and gardens. Then we arrive at the "Plaza Dejamaa El Fna", the famous big square, to explore its surroundings and get a general idea of its history, as well as take a look at the traditional markets the "Souks", smell the various spices and walk around "Rahba Kdima" square known for women selling baskets made of straw on the ground. Together we will navigate through the colorful labyrinths of the souk, helping you discover artisan places where you can see for yourself how local products are made and how different types of crafts are made. We will finish our tour and walk through the medina "the old city" to see the daily life of the local people and the impressive narrow streets in the heart of the medina.

Note: When the tour ends you will be able to pay the guru whatever you consider fair. Some will pay 10$ others 50$. Considering that these tours are our guide's full time job to make a living and it will be a small group for your comfort, we recommend rewarding the guide minimum 10€ /10$ / 100 Moroccan Dirhams per person for her/his job.
The meeting point is in front of the intangible heritage museum. The maximum waiting time is 10 minutes.
