Tour description

The historic center of Kraków (Stare Miasto), declared a World Heritage Site in 1978, is divided into two distinct areas: Wawel Hill and the medieval city of Krakow. The high fortifications that surrounded the medieval city were built between the 10th and 12th centuries. Currently a circular park (Planty) replaces the old walls and its dozens of watchtowers. The starting point of the visit is Rynęk Glówny, also known as the market square, since at its center is the large fabric market (Sukiennice) dating from the 14th century, now occupied by souvenir shops. It is the largest medieval square in Europe and meeting center. It also highlights the Basilica of Santa Maria (Kościoł Mariacki) with two unequal towers, and the statue of Adam Mickiewicz. Following the most well-known route in the historic center, the so-called "Royal Mile" consisting of the streets Florianska and Grodzka, we come to the hill of Wawel and its imposing castle. In this huge and majestic complex are also the Cathedral of St. Wenceslas and St. Stanislaus. Most of the kings of Poland have lived there and during the Second World War it was the headquarters of Nazi Germany. In short, if you want to know in detail all that is hidden in the spectacular old town of Krakow, this visit is designed for you to know and travel back in time through the streets of this charming city in southern Poland.
