The tour will take you through the heart of Paris from its origins, crossing the île de la Cité, the place chosen by Julius Caesar to found the Roman city of Lutetia. An ancient walled city built on an island where the first palace of the French kings and the imposing Notre Dame cathedral are located.
Before the Louvre and Versailles, monarchs resided in a palace that would ironically end up becoming the prison where Marie Antoinette would spend her last days. It also has one of the jewels of French radiant Gothic art, the Sainte Chapelle. We will see the exterior of other iconic monuments such as the Conciergerie, the Palais de Justice and the Pont Neuf.
