Free Walking Tour The Hague

I had initially booked another tour but as my bus was delayed, I booked this one. The guide was cheery and brought everyone an umbrella which was nice given the horrid weather. I did not like how the guide said that anything less than 10 Euros as a tip meant that we did not like the tour. I'm sure the reason most of us are booking a free tour is because we cannot afford anything else. I did leave the tour 30 minutes early to catch my bus. We did visit a few interesting spots. Would have liked to visit the peace palace as part of this tour.

As far as city tours go, this one was average. Weather was awful which made it difficult all around. Based on the weather report, we should have opted for something else.

Yes, the tourguide told me there were terrential rains that afternoon. She said she should have opted to have a coffee with your group. At the same time, it seems hard to connect with a group in those conditions-and that shows in your 3 star rating. Hope for sun next time! Kind regards, Els

In the part review that only we can read with your argumentation, you tell us you feel like Alison did not give you proper personal attention and that is why you didn't enjoy the tour. Alison tells me she tried to nudge you in to the group and get you to take part in the group. She also said you didn't respond to it and kept placing yourself outside the group from the beginning. Alison is a good tour guide that works hard to be aware of the group dynamics. I am sorry it influenced the qualitiy of your tour soo much, that you felt you had to overall write her a bad review. Dear Ellen, You expressed your unhappiness about the tour, pretty much at the beginning of the tour. This was my answer to you: - This general free tour is catered for general knowledge on the Netherlands and The Hague, you told me you read several books on the city before your visit. I explained that The Hague history goes hand in hand with our national history and needs explaining for most walkers. - I offered you to walk next to me, ask your specific detailed questions ( btw that the rest of the group mostly does not care about) to me-even in your native language German,- so that you too would feel you would get something out of a tour that was clearly the wrong tour for you. - I made it clear that the second half of the tour was more about architecture and local stories. You chose to skip that second part. Perhaps for next time, I also offer tours that cater to those who want explore the local history even further. We hope to see you again. Kind regards, Els
