HISTORY, LEGENDS & FESTIVE MARKETS (inc. Game of Thrones locations)

Christian is a very humble and polite Brit living his semi-retirement period in this beautiful Catalan region. He had quite a lof of information about the place as it is now . He showed us a lot of Game of Thrones shooting location with good views..Chosen path was also logical.. It could be improved by adding more historical information as Girona has 2000 years of history. Guide missed some parts of the history and lacked some information, which is completely understood for a Brit in Girona.

Thank you Naincy for leaving the lowest rating I have received. You brought a negative and challenging energy to that tour and My humble and polite manner was tested. It seemed that from the outset that you wanted to cause an argument, I have not come across this before and could only imagine that this was some sort of attention seeking behaviour. I decided to cut parts of the tour and not respond to your challenges. I didn’t want my other guests to feel uncomfortable and so I tried to give my focus to them and answer their polite questions. At the end of the tour you asked me for suggestions for places to visit but then said you were not interested in visiting the great churches and museums. I wondered why you showed such a lack of interest when throughout the tour you were so challenging for information and adamant that you knew the city better than I do. I may be a “Brit in Girona” but it would be impossible for anyone to give 2000 years of history in a 2 hour tour. The rating you gave for my tour was fair because you experienced a ‘diluted’ version of the tour. In hindsight this was the wrong decision. I strive to give an interesting, fun and highly informative experience. The better decision might have been to ask you to leave the tour so that I and my guests could enjoy the tour at its best.

Great guide and communication. We knew the tour was Game of Thrones inspired (which we are appreciative but were the only ones on the planet that hasn’t got a clue) ....the real depth in the history it’s not what I signed up was still very cool

Hello Kelly, Thank you for your comments. I'm sorry to see from your rating that the tour didn't quite hit the mark for you. I would not want people to think that this is a Game of Thrones inspired tour. The tour stops at many historic sites and it's here that I talk about the history and also tell some of the old stories. Some of these places were used as filming locations and this is when I give reference to and show Game of Thrones photos, I always hope that to see how the streets of the old town were dressed and styled for filming will be of some interest, for me showing these photos of Medieval style recreations can help people imagine how things might have looked many centuries ago. I've tried to stay true to the title of the tour and strike a good balance and I hope that the filming references are more a 'bonus' element and a way to stir the imagination and enhance the tour experience.
