Free Tour of the Highlights of Jakarta

Si no tienes plan para después, te sobra la energía y además, te gustan las sorpresas, este es tu tour. Sin embargo, lo que debía ser un tour de 4h se convirtió en uno infinito (yo me retiré a las 19h aprox y aún no habíamos ni empezado a ver Chinatown. Vimos la mezquita, la catedral, una plaza (en la cual paramos a comer sobre las 5). Aquí parte del grupo se tuvo que ir porque ya tenía otros planes, dejando sin completar el tour. A mi me pasó lo mismo sobre las 19h. La gurú tiene demasiada energía y cuenta demasiadas cosas, gritando y demasiado deprisa, así que llega un punto en el que desconnectas de lo que dice porque es abrumador.

She had nice gestures like preparing the train tickets for us and let us try typical indobesian sweets as well as giving us tips for the trip. Unfortunately we did not like the tour too much. She arrived 30 min late (which is she does quite often, as per what I read in the other comments). She initially texted us saying that she would be 15 min late since she lives far and there was traffic. Yeah, we know, that's why we got up early enough to be on time. The organization was pretty bad since we had to wait for some time to enter into the mosque because she intended to enter when it was break time (she should now this). The tour is way longer that 3.5 hours, we left after 5 hours and the tour continued (probably) for 1 or 1.5 hours more, all this without warning us in advanced or asking us of we did need any break. Therefore, we did not lunch, and sometimes we were standing in the sun for really long time. She did jokes that she found funny but we found inappropriate. Often was hard to follow the thread of the explanations since she was changing from one topic to another. She also explained many personal details about her private life that had nothing to do with the tour. She gave many dates and names without putting them too much in the context so we could not understand the whole idea of the history of Jakarta.

Fifi is a very excited, caring and honest person, trying to integrate each and everyone. She would shelter us from the traffic and prepare extra cards for public transport so we wouldn't need to get them ourselves. The tour started a bit late which wasn't a big problem, we dropped out kind of in the middle when already 4 hours have passed. We believe the tour continued for 1 or 2 more hours. We personally would have enjoyed a more condensed tour of maybe 3 hours with only the most important historic and cultural highlights. Fifi was going deep into history facts, we got a bit lost in dates and names and didn't understand the idea/goal of the tour.
