The tour was okay okay, but the recommendations he gave were influenced as the place he suggested as cheap option is the most expensive place to eat in venice You can skip the tour and go around the place on your own

I booked a city walking tour of Venice months in advance. We went to the original starting point and got there 20 mins early. I received a WhatsApp text at that time saying that the start location had been changed and was a 40 min walk in the opposite direction, actually not far from our hotel. We never could have made it in time. It turns out that the text was sent at 8 am but because if spotty WiFi in Venice I didn’t get it in time. If the new starting point had been near the original starting point it would have been ok. The guide was in touch with me but we just couldn’t get there in time. I was so disappointed since this is the first thing I like to do in a new city to learn history and then decide what to see next based on the tour information. We ended up downloading some Rick Steve’s audio guides instead.

Unfortunately the group was much to big. More than 20 people. Difficult to interact and also manage such a big group in crowded Venice

There were way too many people allowed on or tour. I counted about 50 people. It was like a cattle boat tour making it hard to hear and maneuver through the narrow crowded streets. They usually only have up to 20 people per tour and then consider it closed.
