This tour isn't "free" as advertised. They are very adamant about getting 250 000 dong per person - will repeatedly remind you. I don't mind paying but to advertise it as free or tip based and then demanding at least 250 000 is deceitful even when the tour guide was doing the bare minimum

    Response from Guru

I hope you had a safe and pleasant journey back home. I want to thank you again for joining the food tour in Saigon, and I hope you enjoyed the time we spent exploring the local cuisine, despite the challenging weather conditions. I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback regarding the experience. While I appreciate the tip of $12 USD that you left for the four of you, I wanted to clarify a few points to ensure there's no misunderstanding. After the app fees, I received only $12 USD for a four-hour tour, which equates to $3 USD per person. Compared to the time, effort, and attention I put into crafting a unique and memorable experience—including extending the tour beyond the standard duration and navigating through heavy rain—it felt a little disheartening. As a professional guide, I strive to provide the best possible experience, regardless of the weather or other circumstances, and I always hope that guests will recognize and appreciate that commitment. I completely understand that everyone has their own perspective on tipping, and I respect your decision. However, I also feel it’s important to communicate openly so that future travelers can have a better understanding of the efforts that go into creating these personalized experiences. Thank you once again for choosing my tour, and I hope you left Saigon with some great memories. Should you have any feedback or suggestions on how I can further improve, I’d love to hear from you. Take care, and safe travels.

The guide did not appear, after calling him and texting him, he just texted us way later that we can do the tour only tomorrow. As we left on the next day we declined it and asked for some food tips instead but he never replied. Really unreliable and annoying for us to spend our time waiting for him.

    Response from Guru

I sent you the email confirmation right after you booked, but you did not confirm to join the tour. I texted you and told you about the number of walkers, we need to get 5 people to start the tour because we need to get enough people to share meals. You are the only one who booked the tour at that slot. You only texted me when you arrived to the meeting place, but you ignored my message and did not reply to me. You should have sent me the message before you came to the meeting place, so you would know the tour did not happen because of a lack of walkers, so that's your fault.

Tour guide couldn’t speak a word of English. Nobody in the group could understand anything that he was saying, so we all left the tour only after a few spots. Was rly disappointing as the food was tasty and the tour had a lot of promise. Unfortunately, poor tour guide and his inability to speak the language ruined the experience.

    Response from Guru

Dear Filip, We're always eager to hear what you liked and how we can improve. Thanks for giving us constructive feedback about our co-guide. We will look into your feedback to improve our service and our guide training. Take care and we hope to see you next time.

    Response from Guru

Dear Marie, We're grateful for your feedback, We're always eager to hear what you liked and how we can improve. Our group was supposed to have only 15 people, however, some other guests brought more of their friends to join the tour with us. We could not say we won't accept when they already at the meeting place:( Therefore, we will learn lessons from the past and will accept only the guests who book in advance with us. We are so sorry again for not taking care of you well since the group is too big. We will look into your feedback and improve our service for future guests. Thank you so much again for your feedback, we hope to see you again next time. Best regards, Binh

I was so excited to join this ‘unique’ tour and try some under the radar, real street food places of Saigon, however, on visiting the first stop it quickly became apparent that this was ‘the very well beaten track’ of restaurants (not street stalls!) where everyone else at every other table in the place was also on a guided tour - it all felt very disingenuous so I’d be reluctant to book if I’d known.

    Response from Guru

First, we're grateful for your feedback, We're always eager to hear what you liked and how we can improve. Second, after carefully checking your review, we understand you are not a trusted and respected guest. We want to correct it so other guests will not be confused. - The tour lasts for 4 hours and consists of 9 food location stops, you only ate at the first stop and you decided to leave the tour not even halfway. Therefore, you reviewed for only the first food stop, not for the whole experience. In addition, in my description of the highlight section, I describe very detail the tour and what we will visit and eat. You must read already that from the first stop to the last stop. I did not hide the name of the food or the location area where we will walk if you search them on Google Maps. - For example, in the first stop, I mention " Bo La Lot" This restaurant was selected by Michelin, and Anthony Bourdain used to eat there. The first stop could be famous because Michelin selected it, you can find it easily on Google map, but we cover up to 9 food locations, the rest places are street food and located in hidden alleys. However, you tried only the first stop, and you left the tour which was very rude and disrespected Gurus. You joined only the first stop, and you think you could judge the whole experience. Last, You rated us a 1-star review which was very unreasonable. YOU SHOULD NOT BE WELCOME BY OTHER GURUS IN THE FUTURE.
