Kuala Lumpur (KL) Introductory Day Tour: The Malaysian Experience!

This review needs a bit of context. In the very early hours of the morning, one of my closest friends was in extreme pain and there was no choice but to attend to her. I genuinely thought I cancelled the tour but it didn’t go through, resulting in walkers being left without the tour guide at the tour. It was only when I left the hospital around noon that I received messages and missed calls including from this walker. I quickly sent a sincere apology message explaining the situation, hoping to seek understanding and support for the situation, and even following up on the recommendations and future tours (no tips expected). Almost all the walkers took up the offer other than this walker. I understand how frustrated it must be to wait, but there clear instructions I detailed in the group chat message about what to do in scenarios like these. I also hoped in general that the walkers understand that these things happen and not always due to due negligence. I asked the walker to reconsider the review in that light (however ashamedly the initial tour was not able to be offered), and be asked once more to reconsider their review.

Hakim is a fuuny guy. If you want a tour to socialize could be acceptable. Town has a lot of history, facts, buildings, he just walking around like another perdom with a group of people. There are very good guides in Kuala Lumpur, this it's bad enought for doing this service.

However, this is an introductory tour meant to get people to see as many things as possible and get an overall feel of the city, but we still go beyond a minimum of the history and facts that come with the stops. In between the stops, I spent a lot of time answering people's further questions about specific parts of Malaysian history and culture too, and not just socialisation. During the tour, I also wrote and showed a document that has even more history and facts in case anyone wants to know even more about the stops, to ensure that the tour does not run too long. The presentation style and humour aim to help people follow through with what is being said and understand the tour better, and to constantly keep the audience engaged. It is important to note that the humour is not to belittle or replace the history being told, but to actually show respect for it and to even elevate it. Lastly, I did arrive well before the start of the tour, so I was very confused with the issue of punctuality here unless you happen to have a record of exactly what time I came in. Generally, I'm very confused by the review because the review implies that either there is no history at all, or that everything that is told on the tour does not count as history or facts at all, which would contradict all the other reviews written here. There's also confusion with every other aspect of this review as well. I'm sure you will want to explain your review further, and maybe the review will make more sense. After all, it's always important for tour guides to understand their tourists to the fullest and ultimately be better every day than yesterday. Sorry again, and hope to hear from you!

the guru never showed up. Also he did not answer his phone and did not respond to our messages. After 30 minutes we started walking through the city ourselves. We never heard from him why he was not there.
