Free Tour of the authentic historical center of Brussels

Vor Beginn der Tour teilte uns Emil mit, dass wir um an der Tour teilnehmen zu dürfen 10€ pro Person vor Beginn der Tour zu Zahlen haben. Ich entgegnete Ihm, dass dies allerdings nicht mehr dem Konzept einer Free Walking Tour von GuruWalk entspricht. Er übte Druck auf uns auf, dass wenn wir nicht zahlen würden nicht an der Tour teilnehmen dürften. Da wir nur einen Nachmittag in Brüssel waren blieb uns nichts anderes Übrig als die Bedingungen zu akzeptieren. Ich teilte ihm mit, dass ich erst nach der Tour zahlen würde, die akzeptierte er widerwillig mit dem Zusatz, dass er nach der Tour keine Diskussionen haben möchte. Sonst war die Qualität der Tour in Ordnung.

If you are booking an afternoon tour beware as it’s not what is advertised. The afternoon tour is of the uptown and misses all the main attractions in the city centre (mannekis pis etc). We found this boring and left half way through. We weren’t the only ones. We have been on many tours across Europe and unfortunately this was the worst one. The part of the tour that we stayed for wasn’t very cohesive and the tour guide kept jumping from one fact to another, it was very hard to keep up and understand what’s going on.

The tour just dragged on. There was a weird comradery between the participants, because none of us wanted to be there. I never saw so many people disappear on a tour. The guide was very nice and likeable. The tour itself mainly listed dates when buildings where erected and what you can buy in which shops. There was little history or story telling. The English was, unfortunately, very poor.

There was no tour guide at the meeting point!
