A great Tour! Memo was so personable and we finished the tour feeling like we made a new best friend.

Memo took us to several hidden local gems and his route was very well thought out. We started with an appetizer place and then to a nice family run restaurant to have some ceviche and sampled their famous dish. Then we visited a great taco stand where we enjoyed fried fish and shrimp tacos. We finished at a nice ice cream shop where the owner greeted us. It was great fun experience. Highly recommend Memo’s seafood walking tour!

What a great tour! Momo introduces you to great seafood and the best local places in Puerto Vallarta! He does it with fascination and passion. Highly recommend to do this tour early in your trip! :)

Memo was a great guide to the places the locals go - delicious and relatively inexpensive too. He was funny and knowledgeable! Make sure you bring local currency!

We absolutely enjoyed Seafood 101 walking tour with Memo! We did the Taco 102 walking tour 2 days beforehand and were so happy to have Memo as our tour guide again. Please bring cash because all the stops are cash only. If you don’t have cash, Memo will show you a local ATM machine that charges only 60 pesos to withdraw cash from your debit card (vs 193 peso withdrawal fee at our hotel). Memo was very informative about ingredients, cooking methods, origin of food at every single stop. He made plenty of recommendations for what to do in the city while we walked between stops. Everyone in town seems to know Memo- greeting him along the way. Every stop was carefully thought out- unlike other tours where you could tell there was some sort of kick back. Some of the stops even gave us free samples because they of their friendship with Memo (and granted it was only us 2 for the tour today). The most expensive taco we had was only 50 pesos! We started with Marlin skewers (pescado en vara asado) at Pit Stop & Los Abuelos. This is the same reddish meat on a stick you see people selling on the beach. It was very well seasoned and now I know it is made fresh, I’ll flag them down next time I see them being sold on the beach! Second stop was freshly shucked oysters right on the beach. Ostinones Puerta Vallarta is just a stand with an umbrella and the owner selling freshly caught oysters. It is a family run business- with others shucking oysters in the shade. The clams and oysters were so fresh that when move if you poke them!! Third stop was Mariscos Guero, a sit down restaurant. We tried all of Memo’s recommendations. But be patient because they make everything to order. Best thing we had were the smoked marlin tostada and a tapa style octopus (not on menu, special order by Memo for us). Our final stop was at Marisma. We are from San Diego, with a huge fish taco scene. I went in doubtful I’d be blown away, but Marisma makes THE BEST fried fish taco! We were sad to part ways with Memo, we had such a great time! Tip generously: Memo’s got 7 dogs to feed 😂
