Would not recommend. Blamed Israel for cameras installed in Stone Town (???) "Israel put these cameras here" were his exact words. That's just ignorant and wrong. He is factually wrong in 90% of what he says when asked to elaborate or for details he made fun of us. This happened 3 times. Can't imply that I have sex with other people in front of my spouse. Made us both uncomfortable in our honeymoon. He needs to understand social cues better, people don't wanna sit down for 30 min listening to stories, when all other groups are going through the same sites and many more spending just 5 minutes in each place.

If you are expecting a guide that will tell you interesting stories about Stone Town, you should look somewhere else. If you want a local to walk with you around the city without much explanations, then this is for you.

Giklik is a very nice person and will give you a warm invitation. However I opted for the longer tour and the Interesting history, stories, and facts were sorely lacking. If you like learning about places then this is not the tour for you. If you want a birds eye view of the city then this is perfect.
