This was a wonderful tour of Ohrid which also thanks to the superb guide Dragan became a day long tour taking in the sites of the old town of Ohrid like the Church of Saint Sophia, the Theatre of Ohrid, Samuels Fortress, Kaneo etc. After that Dragan suggested a trip to the Bay of Bones and the Church of St Naum. Both were very impressive and had amazing views of Lake Ohrid. I didn't think those views could be beaten but then Dragan took us high up in the mountains of the National Park Galicica. The scenery and views from so high up we're out of this world. Also then on the way back down we seen another magical lake called Lake Prespa which as with Lake Ohrid looked phenomenal from so high up. You could see into Albania and Greece from there ! Our last stop was the aincent city and North Macedonias second biggest city Bitola. Bitola has an amazing history dating back to Alexander the Greats Father, Phillip the 2nd of Macedonia. We visited Heraclea Lyncestis which dates backs to those times and the Romans after it. Then we went to the city centre for a nice and informative walk. It was extremely interesting and you get to see so many different religious sites in one area which shows what a diverse and unique country modern day North Macedonia is. All in all it was a brilliant day and Dragan is an excellent guide and man with a great passion and knowledge of his country and he took us to places we'd never have seen on our own for a great price overall. Thanks Dragan for a lovely tour (even in some rain!). We learned a lot about Macedonia, got our questions answered and enjoyed the route to see the main sites of Ohrid. Super friendly and went above and beyond to help us out on the rest of our trip here in Ohrid. Thanks again!
The tour with Dragan was perfect. First he told us many things about Ohrid and Macedonia. After that he showed us all the sights. Many different old churches (Klement, Sophie, Kaneo and many others), the old theater, the old city and many beautiful views. He was able to answer any questions and helped us to take perfect pictures. On top that he offered us to drive to the Monastry Naum and Museum of bones, where he gave us even more insights. He also recommended us a restaurant named Dalga where we could try the local trout. His recommendation was perfect as the food was delicious. We would highly recommend everyone to do a tour with Dragan. Thank you Dragan for showing us everything within 3 hours.
Dragan is a great guide for Orhid. He has an extensive knowledge of the area and provides great local recommendations for things to do. In addition to this Dragan was kind enough to offer to extend the tour to include a trip to the Saint Naum monastery and the bay of bones. Given I was travelling in off season this was very appreciated as those areas can be difficult to reach via public transport.
