Ciao a tutti, "salut"!
I recently joined Diana's free walking tour in Brașov with my partner and two friends, and it was genuinely one of the best guided experiences I've ever had. Diana's tour stands out because of her exceptional knowledge of Brașov's history and culture. Having grown up during Romania's Communist era with a history professor father, she offers authentic perspectives you won't find in guidebooks. Her personal connection to Romania's past makes historical events feel immediate and relevant. The 3-hour tour was perfectly paced with strategic routes throughout the city. Diana checked in before any challenging sections (like hill climbs), ensuring everyone's comfort. Despite the length, time flew by with our group fully engaged. Her comprehensive knowledge impressed me most. She seamlessly blended historical facts with local life stories, wildlife information (including bear safety), Dracula legends, and practical advice. Later museum visits confirmed how thoroughly she had covered the city's history in an engaging way. Diana's insights into Romanian generational differences were fascinating, for example, regarding food preferences between generations. She also had a good awareness of current local news which made the tour even more interesting. After the tour, Diana shared a document with local recommendations. We tried several of her suggested restaurants and were delighted with each one. Her tips felt genuine rather than commissioned. I would suggest to this tour on your first day in Brașov—one traveler did it on her last day and regretted not having more time to explore Diana's recommendations. For visitors to Brașov, Diana's tour is unmissable—an authentic, informative, and thoroughly enjoyable introduction to this beautiful Romanian city.
The walking tour was an excellent and engaging history lesson about Brasov! Diana guided us through centuries of history, from the medieval era to the communist period, highlighting buildings and landmarks from each time. She was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, sharing detailed insights with passion. What made the experience even more special was her willingness to share personal memories from the communist era, offering a unique and heartfelt perspective on how people lived and overcame challenges during that time. Diana was also very thoughtful—she provided a PDF file with recommendations for restaurants and other activities in the area, which was incredibly helpful! If you want to learn more about Brasov from a local’s perspective, this tour is a must. You won’t regret joining it!
Diana was very nice and knowledgeable, we enjoyed her presentation.
