Mario cancelled a couple hours before the tour would start because of "professional reasons".
I was really disappointed to receive a message saying the tour has been cancelled due to not enough participants. The message was sent at 1pm but via email so did not initially see it. Generally your not checking emails while sightseeing. I received a WhatsApp message once I booked the tour and I feel if it was going to be cancelled, a WhatsApp message should have been sent also. I asked if I could book onto another tour the following day, but none were available. I have since read some reviews and it seems other people have had his tour cancelled too. Therefore, if you really want a walking tour in Lille, it might be worth not booking this one.
Mario messaged early on the tour day saying there weren't enough people, and then cancelled the tour around 1pm. The first message was a bit odd, highlighting that he lives outside the city centre and has to take a car or train to get there, hence expecting a fair tip.
