This is one of the shorter tours I’ve been on through GuruWalk, but it was packed I’m with information. The tour was overall about an hour and a half, and covered the big tourist spots from a distance. This is a great tour to take at the very beginning of your time in Jaipur because you’ll get great recommendations of things to do during your stay. This tour is not an in depth walkthrough of any of the major monuments, but you’ll get a good understanding of where things are generally and why they’re there. When you first meet, Aayush will meet you outside of the “wind palace” - the picture of the tour is a little misleading because he is not the woman in the cover photo, so don’t be surprised! He is super knowledgeable about everything and LOVES questions! He also gives full day tours if you’re interested in going inside everything at a later point! Overall, my husband and I had a wonderful short walk in the evening, with a great and knowledgeable guide!
Sameer is one of the best guides in India and definitely the best guide in Jaisalmer! He is super friendly, enthusiastic and intelligent! His smile is contagious, and he will make sure you’re smiling the entire time! When you first meet him outside of the fort, he’ll be the best-dressed guy there and he’ll walk you through the fort and all the temples if they’re open! After that, you’ll walk through the city to see some Haveli’s and will even get to go inside one that has been turned into a museum. After that, you’ll have a nice rest by the lake and maybe even get to see a light show! If you elected to have dinner, you’ll stroll back into the fort for a lovely dinner by a real Rajasthani chef overlooking the temples! We highly recommend doing dinner because you are welcomed into someone’s home as their guest and can eat to your hearts delight!! If you’re in Jaisalmer for a few days, I recommend trying to meet up with Sameer a second day, so you can walk around the non-touristic shops, try some sweets or even do an activity together! Sameer had so many great recommendations for food, drinks and shopping! This tour was a spectacular day full of culture, history and laughter. Sameer is attentive and will take many pictures and videos of you throughout the tour so you never forget your time together! The first thing you should do if you’re traveling to Jaisalmer is to request a tour with Sameer! He is truly the main character of Jaisalmer and made our experience incredible!
This was the second tour my husband and I went on with Ravi and we were so thankful we got the opportunity to spend more time with him and meet his tuk tuk driver Deva! This tour was super fun and comfortable because we got driven around by the safest driver in Johdpur! We started off at the fort, and were able to intake all the knowledge of the museum without reading any signs. We never got museum-tired because he made everything so lively! Ravi knew so much about every painting and room that we came away thinking we were historians! After the fort we went to the “mini Taj” and it was beautiful to walk around, Ravi gave us a bit of romance time to walk around after giving us a brief summary. After that, I was pretty hungry so we went for a nice snack, followed by a fun pawn shop. At the end, Deva took us home safe and sound! In summary, this was a very full tour where you’ll get to see the big landmarks of the city and get a lot of the history of the places you’re visiting. Ravi was an excellent guide, throughout this tour other people were trying to listen-in on Ravi’s knowledge and it was great to know we chose an expert! Ravi is such a fun person and he’ll keep you smiling and laughing throughout your time with him, if you want a great time and a great historian any day during your stay in Johdpur, Ravi is the perfect guide!
This tour of Jodhpur was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on! Ravi is fun and knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor! We did both this blue city walking tour and the fort/monument tour with Ravi because he was so wonderful! This tour started early in the day to beat the heat, and we got to walk through the blue city while learning about the architecture, history and culture of the people who built the city and about the people who live there now. The city is stunning, and Ravi has answers to all your questions about the blue city and its former and current inhabitants. Ravi seems to know everyone and everything in the area and he made us feel safe and secure the entire time. Ravi kept us laughing the entire tour, while making sure we saw the absolute best parts of the old city, and got to take the best pictures! Ravi quickly became a good friend during the tour and he had lots of recommendations for food, drinks, shopping and other attractions like zip lining! He helped organize our events for the next day, and made sure we had the best trip to Johdpur ever! Definitely take this tour on your first day in the city and you’ll be navigating and eating like a local in no time! Don’t miss this tour if you like fun!
This is one of the best tours I’ve ever taken! Manish is probably the kindest and most considerate person you will meet in Udaipur. This tour was a unique cultural, historical and architectural experience you will never forget! Right from the start, Manish had water (pani) bottles for my husband and I to make sure we were comfortable during the tour. He was super enthusiastic and began the tour by asking us what we were most interested in seeing and learning about. We got to walk through the unbeaten paths of Udaipur as locals instead of tourists, which was a unique experience for us! The locals greeted us with smiles and waves, and genuine curiosity because we weren’t in the typical tourist sections of the city. We learned about the traditional methods of making many crafts used for daily life, and even got to see some completed products. In addition to walking through the local parts of the city, Manish took us for Chai, chips and sweets that were so good we came back to the shops multiple times during our stay! Manish also took us to a beautiful overlook of the entire city and even took some pictures of us! At the end of the tour Manish gave us some amazing recommendations for the next day! Overall, I wish I could give this tour 100 stars out of 5 because Manish is such an amazing guide! Manish is a superior tour guide and you will absolutely come away from the tour smiling! Manish is such a lovely person and I’m so glad to call him a friend after our time together.
