Amazing! What a wonderful fellow. Chipper and cheerful, super smart, articulate, and really understood how to present information to us. I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our time with Minh!
Our guide seemed to know nothing about the area. He was clearly not from the area and struggled with English. We know second languages can be difficult but he needs to improve to be an effective tour guide. We arrived 10 minutes early as requested, but the tour started at least 20 minutes late. Our first stop was in an art gallery, and had no context or relationship to the area we were interested in learning about. We told the guide the tour was not shaping up to be what we expected, so when we reassembled as a group, he tried to recover by cobbling together unrelated nonsense about the civil war, indigenous peoples, and iron resources. It made no sense and it was clear he didn’t really have any idea how to lead this tour.
A wonderful two hours with a super friendly and knowledgeable young man!
Even in the rain, this tour was exactly what we needed! It allowed us to acclimate and set up the rest of our exploration of old Hoi An. Vinh was a wealth of knowledge and made everything extra fun and interesting. We really liked meeting fellow travellers from around the world - Portugal, Mexico, Australia and Ghana! This tour is highly recommended!
