Our tour guide was very knowledgable...a grad student in Global Studies! He took the time at the end of each stop to answer questions and made it interactive by asking what we thought about things we were seeing. Sure, you could do a tour on your own, but this Walkative! Tour is win/win and you will learn things not written on plaques or in brouchures.
This was my first time in Mexico City so I figured a good way to get a quick overview would be a bike tour and indeed it was. Bike MXperiences provided the bicycle and my guide Pamela was great. Pamela is a traveler who has visited major cities in Europe. One of our first stops was at a very popular and delicious street food vendor then through many parks and neighborhoods with Pamela pointing out the history of public art and buildings. She mentioned a particular location that was used in a movie, so I asked if we could ride by the location. She accommodated the request and I was thrilled. If you are a bike rider already, I highly suggest this tour. After getting familiar, I also utilized Mexico City's bike share program, Ecobici, and it was a great way to get around for the weekend!
