Duarte's tour was quite informative and we got a wider historical context and some very interesting details, all tied with mentioning of parallel happenings in the world in relation to Spain. Whether you have no knowledge or know the basics about Madrid in the 20th century, you will get chronological and systematized narrative. For some reason we have been left without the most vivid part of the story about La Movida movement. But even without that part, we recommend this tour.
Tal was a bit shy but very knowledgeable guide with love for graffiti & street art culture. We strolled through Lavapiés & La Latina neighborhoods, he showed us plenty of pieces and we discussed the messages behind certain artworks and social engagement of artists. It was less technical tour but more about street art & graffiti history in the city and current happenings on the scene, about creativity and passion of some of the artists, the messages that art carries, coexistence of communities and rebellion against the degradation of the quality of life. Unique and interesting tour, highly recommended!
The tour with Will was very informative, especially considering that there are no museums and memorials in Madrid dedicated to the subject of Spanish civil war. Will is very passionate guide and provided us with a lot of details about the street fights and the battle in/around the city. He answered questions and showed us the parts of the city where were major clashes. Recommended tour!
