I travelled a lot in the 1980s but despite going through central america never made it to SA till now....so having a look around but having to do a little work as well
The Belen & Valeria tour went from the middle of La Paz to El Alto via the teleferico and back to interesting areas of LaPaz including witches market... It was a very informative and interesting tour. The friendly tour guide Belen is very knowledgeable about Bolivian culture, history, politics....and explains all ....there is a mystery about the intermingled culture of indigenous witchery and fortune telling and catholicism brought by the Spanish. This is a tour not to be missed...highly recommended by me.
This was a different tour. It combines both La Paz and a little of El Alto via the teleferico cable car transit system (fatastico). Cat Hat Daniel (I hope I have name correct) is a great narrator. He has a knack of making the narrative interesting and informative with a healthy touch of humour- hes great. We had an overview of the history and politics of Bolivia, and then went to view some of the famous historic city sites including some unusual buildings in the the city. We also took some of the market and witchery area of El Alto. Great tour....would highly recommend. The tour is 'free' but a reasonable tip at the end is suggested.
