James is young, but professional, friendly, and helpful! Loved all of the food stops we made - everything was really tasty! The pancake stop was more expensive than I expected, but everything else was very cheap ($1-3). We also stopped by the train street, which was a nice item to check off without adding a lot of extra effort. Since there's a lot of assembling of food, I think it might be nice to carry hand sanitizer or wet wipes. Overall, I'd highly recommend the food tour!
Great tour with Shaw! Lots of helpful information, honest opinions, and good pacing (though a bit fast at times, so walk briskly!). There was a joke that he made that didn't land very well, so maybe take that one out?? But that didn't impact my overall experience. I'd definitely recommend Shaw!
We were two big groups merged into one (the other guide had to all out sick), but Minh did such a great job at keeping the vibes feel small and personalized. He had a lot of little touches I haven't seen other tour guides do (e.g. assigning roles to people like a fun police, someone to stay behind to make sure the group is together, etc). He also asked everyone what they wanted to learn and addressed everyone's questions before the end of the tour - impressive! Overall, I was very happy with Minh's wealth of knowledge and his ability to manage such a large group on such short notice (and with bad weather!).
