Malik was an intelligent, reasoned and very likable person who spoke about the history of Sri Lanka in the context of the fort. We stopped at various bastions at which point we discussed the rich and varied history of Sri Lanka. Malik was competent and fair in answering questions on Sri lankan history, recent political and social turmoil. We thoroughly enjoyed his tour and I recommend anyone interested in the fascinating history of the fort and the country to spend some time with Malik.
