The guide was 20mins late and his English was very bad. It was hard to understand what he was saying and it seemed like he was just naming temples. As a group we decided to stop the tour right after Durban square.
The tour was really interesting, we went to most of the important place of Kathmandu. The guide explained us and replied all our questions
The guide was late, I understand it was festival time and hence traffic, but then one can just take enough time to get to the meeting place on time. Apart from that there was no introduction to the tour, no initial information about the city, no introduction to other group members. The biggest issue was contact with the group and preparation in terms of knowledge and storytelling. It felt like the guide was not very knowledgable, most of the time throwing names of the temples and gods and the period of construction. There were a few interesting details, but way too few to bring at least some understanding of the place, history and culture. The overall impression was unfortunately like the guide doesn't have the needed knowledge, is not able to make contact with the group and just wants to make it through. The guide's speech was not very clear and he did not care to stop at a place where he would be audible. Overall feeling: quite boring, disorganized and disconnected from the group. I do not recommend if you really want to meet a local person with deep knowledge and understand more than just where you are standing at the moment. I did not complete the whole tour, because it really felt like a waste of time.
