We had a fantastic time with Hichem. His knowledge of the city (in particular the Old Town) was clear to see. Alongside this was his relaxed and friendly manner. Unlike some tours we have completed, we never felt rushed and were able to ask questions throughout the tour. We learnt lots about the city, the people and its culture. During the tour we got to try some local food (which was delicious). A visit to a spice shop in one of the Souks was an eyeopener - both in terms of the huge variety of spices that exist and, equally, interesting the range of health benefits attached to the spices. Our visit to the Mosque was, definitely, one of the highlights of the tour. As well as seeing the inside of this beautiful building, Nathan (our Mosque guide) gave a rendition of the Call to Prayer - translating it into English for us and explaining how the timings of the (five) prayer sessions change throughout the year. If you get the chance to take this tour with Hichem, grab it - you'll be glad you did.
