Marcius is a very animated and vivid person, but the thing is, it was a lot of information and it was not chronological so we felt a bit lost in all that. Another thing that is complicated is that we made lot of stops in random places and sometimes for a frase or two. I think it could have been better.
Response from Marcius
Priscilla, thank you for your contribution.
As I told you on the beginning...
History is not mathematics... I'm not transforming the tour.... in... " reading the Wikipedia". If you thought that , I'm sorry.. is my fault for not being clear on the beginning.
A historian gives links from different times to offer different ideas, pictures, lifestyle.. to be able to make a comparison... to learn more, to creat vivid pages, to make a TIME MACHINE.
Of course that , must be lot of information otherwise we transform the tour in a simple walking for taking photos...
Walking and stopping is a necessary thing for understanding what's around us.
Remember?
small streets, statues, Basilica..... all this need explanations.....means to stop to explain how Romans have lived etc etc
Being surrounded by cars , traffic, noise, if I don't stop, facing you, talking directly to you, I wouldn't be able to make my self understood.
You wouldn't understand a word.
It will be only a waste of time.
Lot of information. I know.
Otherwise we can't compress thousands of years in few hours
I told you on the beginning.
Roman Empire is not a easy task.. neither for me and for you... the tourists...
Is so much to be absorb in only few hours... so much to be taken in... but is a historical tour.
If I stop is even because people put questions during the walk and if I consider that the answer must be shared with the group I stop, explaining the question I've just received.
Because I consider that the question was a good one with general interest.
There you are... the random stops.....
Is a way of fair play letting you know what other people have asked me about the subject.
Of course could be better.
Nothing is perfect but three stars?
For my passion , energy, the soul I put in my tours?
Photos shared with you.
I read history for 30 years and I understood that I don't nothing.
Well that's it.
Saying that, let me add something Priscilla.
Next time, please read better the rules from the GuruWalk.
The payment is from at least... 10 euro per .... per person.....
You know very well how much offered me today after the tour .... from the two of you... so.... before pressing the stars... let's ask our conscience first... are we perfect?
Too bad.. a GURU can't gives stars... we don't have a chance..
Well, I wish you guys a wonderful day!
Marcius
