Irvin was a fantastic guide! He had a deep knowledge and love of his home town and could easily traverse ancient and 20th cenury history , weaving the threads and providing a context to understand the complex and extraordinary history and culture of Gjirokaster and Albania . All with good humour, patience and an exceptional story telling manner to keep the group engaged. Thoroughly recommend.
I 've been in many countries across Europe with different experiences, but Irvin has something rare, he doesn't recite history,he lives it. The way he speaks about the city makes you notice details you would normally walk past without a second thought. Intelligent , naturally funny and deeply local. He is the kind of guide people remember long after the trip ends.
