My name is Jose. I live in Coimbra since I was a student here a few years ago.
I like history, culture and art. And I love meeting new people.
I offer general tours of the city in Portuguese and English. I also offer more specific and in-depth tours of the New and Old Cathedrals and the University of Coimbra.
What a fabulous tour and guide! I learned so much about Coimbra! He has a great style! I wish I was in Coimbra long enough to take his Jewish history tour!
Great tour
José did his best to make this tour interesting, we did discover some hidden germs. I was pleasantly surprised and the route exceeded my exceptions. Special thanks to José for making the tour for such a small number of people (unlike some gurus who prefer to cancel which is a struggle for tourists on a short trip).
Jose was extremely informative and knowledgeable. He made the climb to the university easy! He covered all the important points in Coimbra and had a folder with pictures to explain what's inside the sites for us to decide where we want to return later. He gave suggestions for restaurants and Fado place that we visisted later and was great. He answered our questions after the tour very extensively. He clearly is very passionate about his job and is very good at it!
Jose is a kind person and knows everything in and around Coimbra. After the tour you have the feeling you have seen the big and small highlights of the city. We personally like more jokes and fun facts, but if you want to learn more about Coimbra, choose his tour.
