My name is Jose. I live in Coimbra since I was a student here a few years ago.
I like history, culture and art. And I love meeting new people.
I offer general tours of the city in Portuguese and English. I also offer more specific and in-depth tours of the New and Old Cathedrals and the University of Coimbra.
Jose was excellent. Very professional, extremely knowledgeable and passionate. Our tour lasted 2.5 hrs. and we were pleased that Jose proceeded with the tour despite there just being 4 of us. (This being done to us on another tour). Jose bought history to life with his interesting stories and the use of old drawings and maps. He answered all our questions and kept us entertained with questions to keep us involved. A fabulous tour and introduction to the history and culture opf Coimbra. Thankyou Jose.

We really enjoyed this walking tour. Jose shows you key landmarks in Coimbra in addition to the University and provides great background history. Finding him at the start was easy. The walk is up hill, but he stops at different places to slow the pace. Would recommend!!
Jose was a great knowledgeable guide. He’s shared some interesting information and is clearly passionate and proud of his city. The info sheet he handed out at the end was very helpful.
