As our tour was in English I will comment in English. Touring Casablanca at night was definitely a good choice because the city is more charming after dark, when the lights come on and all the residents come out to enjoy themselves. We were fortunate to have Zahya as our guide because we were able to get the perspective of young Moroccans and also a woman's perspective on life in Casablanca. Zahya is very knowledgeable about Moroccan and Casablanca history, but we were more interested in her own personal experience working, studying at university, living with her family, and more. That's something we don't usually get on guided walking tours. We were also grateful that she took us quickly through the medina because we weren't interested in shopping, focusing more on different highlights, in particular the Hassan II mosque, at the very end of the tour. Illuminated at night it is truly spectacular and a great way to end our enjoyable tour.

Since we did the tour in English I will provide this public comment in English. Brahim was an excellent guide, leading us through the medina of Marrakech at a comfortable pace, showing us many of the main historical and cultural sites, and providing a wealth of interesting information about each one. He is personable, easy to understand, and willing to discuss all sorts of topics, particularly religion, philosophy and history. We learned a lot about the history of Marrakech, but also quite a bit about Islam, which was much appreciated. We highly recommend signing up for any tour that he leads, as he is knowledgeable about many Moroccan cities, not just Marrakech.

Response from Brahim

We were very fortunate to have Youssef as our guide for a delightful evening's walk through Rabat. Youssef is a native of Sale, across the river, and led us effortlessly through the Rabat medina at night, providing us with an entertaining balance of history, cultural insight and his own personal experience growing up in the city. To be honest, it was much more like hanging out with a good friend, proud to show you around his neighborhood and introduce you to his friends. We could not have felt more welcome and safe, though Rabat is a very safe city to walk in. Our walk lasted 2.5 hours but we had such a great time that we met Youssef the next day for a walk through Sale, where he lives, and were fortunate because we might otherwise have missed visiting that charming area. So, of course, we very highly recommend joining Youssef on any of this tours, and be sure he takes you to visit his friend who runs the public oven and has a side business baking super delicious cookies. You will NOT be disappointed!
