I'm native moscovite. Since my childhood I have been discovering my city, I was curious in how such a big city as Moscow lives. When I grew up I became a journalist, and every day I discovered a new side of my town.
I like to travel, and during my journeys, the best way to meet a new culture is trying to converse with locals. In my opinion they know a lot of interesting facts and stories, which show you real spirits of the city.

I really appreciated the specific details Igor pointed out, such as the air vents and the heavy doors used to seal the shelter in case of a nuclear threat, as well as the fascinating historical background—like why the stations were built for such massive capacity and how terrified the lead engineers were when Stalin inspected their work. While you can easily walk through the metro by yourself, you would miss out on so much context without a guide. Igor's English is good, and I highly recommend him 10/10.
