There was a lot of standing around and talking, and not as much walking as I would prefer.
Ruza did a great job leading her tour of the Villa Borghese grounds. It was a beautiful day and she was very knowledgeable about the estate and history.
Slava was fantastic! In fact, this was one of the best walking tours I have been on. It didn't really feel like a tour, but more so interesting conversation with a friend on a stroll. Our group was small, so it was easy to ask questions. Slava provided great info and insights, adding context to the experience. I highly recommend walking with Slava and hope to do so again someday in the future!
I loved the way Diogo approached this tour. He provided a wealth of information in the style of a conversation with a friend. He didn't shy away from the deeper topics of colonialism and politics, but presented the facts to paint a fair and balanced picture of Portuguese history. I also appreciated his advice to "get lost" in the streets of Porto to experience the culture. Overall, I truly enjoyed Diogo's tour and would recommend it to all.
Eduardo is awesome! He really shared some interesting history and also sprinkled in some contemporary info. The context provided helped tie together hundreds of years of history and the impact those events and places had on the people of Lisbon.
