Hello, I have been a tour guide for 27 years, with studies in history, sociology, environmental legislation and above all Anthropology. I am passionate about showing the city and telling about its history, secrets and traditions. I am widely knowledgeable about the Mayan culture in its worldview and its ancestral medicine.
This is a very informational tour about Guatemalan history, influences and current events. The tour guide is quite intelligent and an academic. He will have plenty of knowledge of any5hing you ask. The tour doesn't have to be verbatim if you ask something in specific Gio will answer. History and anthropology is his go to.

This is the tour to go on if you want the real history of Antigua. Gio has an anthropological background and this is evident on his tour. He’s full of accurate knowledge and I left learning so much about how the city came to be and Guatemala in general. He’s warm and non-judgmental; I like that he expresses the various perceptions of the demographics of the city. He also takes the time, you’re free to leave whenever of course & provide your tip, but we spent extra time and it was well worth it.
I was blown away by the quality of the tour! Gio was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and gave us so much insight into the history and culture of Antigua. I felt like I left with a much deeper understanding of the city - could not recommend this tour more! I was also impressed with how much was included - we were able to visit ruins and have a personalised tour of the Jade Museum. Thank you Gio!
