I will say that I didn't do much research on Frankfurt's tours as this day trip was a spur of the moment decision, so I just went with an English available tour that had a good rating. Overall I was dissapointed with the tour, Andres was quite insecure as if it were one of the first tours he was giving (and not the three guides haven given in total 200+ tours). He should be firmer with the structure of the tour (beginning, interacting with late comers, leading...) and research more intriguing and interesting facts about the places visited. I asked different questions and many of them (related with the topics presented) went unanswered. The information given was very basic, an example are the Stumbling Stones. First of all he was unable to give any stories or further details about the people's names that we read, and the project's description was extremely lackluster (and I have heard the Stones' description 50+ times, sometimes learning new details ...). Often guides have too much material that they have to cut out from the tour for time constraints and when asked questions they are happy to tell you about the material they studied. Here it felt that the extra questions were completely new for him.

To me this was an OK dark tour. I have done a few other dark / ghost tours around Europe and compared to the fantastic ones I have joined in Madrid and (while not dark, but medieval storytelling) in Tallinn, this was lacking and quite monotone. In Madrid we were hanging off every single word of the guide, she was passionate and her theatrical delivery, suspense transformed stories into dramas. In Tallinn, we could smell, hear and imagine walking down the medieval roads, with the guide painting characters, settings and stories like an artist. On this tour there were stories and some historical background of the city (which I learnt in my previous morning city tour), but how they were delivered could be improved (more dark details, painting the scenes, dark voices).

Good tour that gets into the Köln, Kölle, Colonian culture, motivators, way of being and doing. As Alex said, you can find when and what, historical description online (although I wouldn't mind it as well), but what you can't find on Wikipedia is who and why. Why did it take so long to build the cathedral, why the virgin bones are sold as souvenirs, peper in the ass ... Therefore it was leaning more on a cultural tour compared to the many historical ones, but nevertheless very eye opening.

Very good tour, learning about the origins of the four Jewish communities and the darker side of Vienna: how this evil came to be, how people accepted and followed it, and how, only after a few generations, they finally acknowledged their own responsibility, moving beyond the convenient excuse of being mere victims. In my opinion, the tour was necessary to get a complete picture of Vienna.

Lovely tour with Rainer :-) I particularly enjoyed learning about Austrian culture, Viennese mentality, choices and history. Would love the tour to be longer and go in even more depth, but regardless it was a pleasurable 2h walk around the city centre.
