Our guide gave good historical background and reference right from the start, in the context of Portugal's history, and the colorful stories of royal marriages, religion and battles for this land. He was very expressive, and knew a lot - and we got every question answered. I recommend this tour!
Felipe is extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited. As he is a historian, we expected a bit more of context on the sites in relation to other things that were happening in Portugal/Europe during the periods he discussed, and not only the story of the specific site. (In some cases he gave really good context - we would just have liked a bit more).
Antonio was knowledgeable beyond the sites he shared and gave us some economic and sociological context to the sites we saw.
