What a fun tour! Only 2 people had signed up, so I appreciated that João did the tour anyway. He knows so much about Coimbra and patiently answered all questions about the city or Portugal in general. The tour included information not only about historical sites of interest but also famous student spots and traditions. I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about the history of the university as well as the evolution of the city itself.
Fun tour and great introduction to the city!
Elza is an excellent guide, she told us about the history of the area and put it in context to Portuguese history as a whole. I really loved learning about the architecture of the different areas of the city as well as the importance of certain sites on our route.
We enjoyed the tour with Samona as a great introduction to the history of Florence and its most famous family and artists. The "secrets" were a fun touch!
What a delightful tour about Caravaggio and his life/art/death! Joey is a born raconteur, highly recommend!
