My review will be controversial with other reviewers and I have been thinking for a few days to write this publicity or not. But I decided to let people make their own evaluation. I was so disappointed with the tour because of the guide was very rude to me. This begin when I first met him in the meeting point and tried to be friendly by greeting him saying hola. But just because I sounded more Spanish to him than Portuguese, he didn't respond to my greeting at all, but directly asked "what's your booking name" with an angry intonation. I was wondering why he acted rudely but I was thinking maybe this is just an issue with different personality/culture. Then a minute after he got my name and my friend name on his list and we were about to leave him to find a space to wait for others, he suddenly said something that made me understand why he has that angry intonation before. He said " can I teach you something! Never said hola to Portuguese people because it's Spanish.....and he said how to pronounced "Olá" This is all sounds so small thing, but if you were there and heard how he spoke to me, his intonation, and his body language - you will quickly can understand that this is not a small thing - this is someone who got annoyed by a young foreigner who has no idea about the real tension between the two countries and treated her disrespectfully. I am happy if someone teach me about their local language or correct my pronunciation - but at that day, that wasn't his intention. He knows exactly how angry he was just because my greeting sounds Spanish rather than perfect Portuguese greeting, and that was in Porto, not Spain.

Response from Revolutours
Dear Christiani, Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. We're sorry the experience felt short on your expectations. First, it is important to clarify assertively that there isn't any tension between Spain and Portugal. For centuries. Certainly there are little cultural differences but, in the end, we are more the same than different. About the pronunciation or greeting, the intention of our tour guide, Adriano, was to ensure that you felt included and learn about us, regardless of your nationality or age. It is never our aim nor was his, after talking to him about this review, for any guest to feel disregarded or uncomfortable. I sincerely apologize for how it came across. I also want to emphasize that Adriano performs walking tours in both English and Spanish. In fact, we can provide screenshots of great Spanish reviews performed by Adriano. We want to assure you that there is no way he got angry about any cultural differences. Our goal is to foster an environment of cultural appreciation and inclusivity, and we deeply regret any miscommunication or misunderstanding that may have occurred during your tour. Additionally, we have attempted to reach out to you to gain further insight into your experience as we value every guest's feedback and concerns seriously. Unfortunately, we have not received any responses from you, as you only seem to refer to that particular moment before the tour and absolutely nothing about the 2:30h/3h actual tour. Sincerely, André English Team Manager. Revolutours team.
