We are Daniel Joao and Rody Hilario, official tour guides in our hometown of Cusco, Peru. We chose this field because it's our passion. We love history, especially the history of our ancestors. We dedicate ourselves to enjoying every day of our lives doing what we love, and that's what tourism is all about! We are passionate about learning and sharing our knowledge with visitors, thus continuing to cultivate our desire to experience and understand ancestral history and culture. I believe it's very important to acquire knowledge and stay up-to-date on new studies of our ancestors' culture here in Peru. This allows me to share much more when telling you about the history, along with the archaeological sites scattered throughout the beautiful city of Cusco. These sites are inaccessible by car and can only be explored in greater depth on a walking tour, which is not tiring and is quite entertaining, full of new theories that help us understand the mythical Inca civilization. Of course the tour is a lot of fun because I consider myself very sociable, especially when I meet people from other countries, since I can learn a lot from them and thus not only be a professional guide, but also create a bond of friendship.
Since I was the only one that morning, I got a private tour with Daniel. He showed up in time and was so knowledgeable and patient. We did the tour in spanish because that is why I came here, to learn and practice. He adapted how fast he spoke so I could follow, making sure every now and then that I understood. He clearly enjoys what he is doing!
Hicimos el tour nocturno de Cuzco con Dany el día que llegamos y fue la introducción perfecta a la ciudad! Dany nos explicó datos interesantes sobre muchos puntos de interés, nos tomó fotografías y respondió atentamente a nuestras preguntas, demostrando mucho conocimiento y entusiasmo. No dudes en hacer este tour con Dany al principio de tu estancia en Cuzco, para disfrutar mientras aprendes y pones en contexto todo lo que ves al caminar por la ciudad.
Hicimos el free walking tour de GuruWalk con Joao y Rody y fue una experiencia inolvidable. El tour fue súper interesante y divertido. Recorrimos lugares a los que probablemente no hubiésemos llegado por nuestra cuenta y aprendimos muchísimo durante todo el recorrido. Joao y Rody saben muchísimo y explican cada lugar con mucha dedicación, paciencia y claridad. Hicimos el tour por la tarde/noche y ver la ciudad de Cusco iluminada desde las alturas fue realmente mágico. Además, entramos al museo de música y Rody nos mostró cómo funcionaban los instrumentos, lo que hizo la experiencia todavía más especial. La experiencia fue inmejorable. Lo recomendamos 100% para cualquiera que quiera conocer la historia, cultura y rincones únicos de Cusco de una forma entretenida y cercana. Muchísimas gracias por todo.
