This walking tour was FANTASTIC. Aitana is young, enthusiastic, passionate about her city as a born-and-bred Parisian, and very articulate about sharing her stories! My partner and I were captivated by Aitana; she clearly put it alot of effort to write her script and by the end, we learned so much about the Latin Quarter's history, people, religion, architecture and even food. Aitana's tour was very educational yet easy to understand and she delivered it with such professionalism. Highly recommend this tour, you will learn so much in just a couple of hours and appreciate Paris so much more!!
First off, the tour was advertised to be for 2 hrs 15 mins, but we finished it in 1 hr 30 mins. While this is perfectly fine, I wish it was communicated clearly beforehand. The tour route and places visited were all good and very beautiful, however I wish Edouard/Ted had shared more history about each spot as well as the whole town of Aix en Provence. At each spot, he delivered maybe 3-4 lines and a couple of personal anecdotes, which were fun but not really relevant to the tour, and then we moved on. At the end of the tour, I didn't really learn much about the town's history and people apart from my own Googling, although we did come away with some good food recommendations. I'm not sure whether it was because Ted is not a local from Aix en Provence (he shared that he lived in America and in Paris for the majority of his life, before settling in Aix some years ago) but perhaps it would be good to include more fun facts about the town and its founding, Provence history, architecture, food and wine, religion etc. to beef up his script along the whole tour. Overall, considering it was a free tour, it was not bad, but I would recommend to manage the expectations of your group, read up on the history yourself, and finally, tip only as you see fit!
