Our second tour with Jacob - we were once again very satisfied with his knowledge and style of presenting information. The tour has a clear subject and is very focused on both art and colorful history of Caravaggio’s life. There is a moment during the tour when you will visit one of the churches to see a Caravaggio’s painting so be prepared to dress accordingly (cover shoulders, etc). Jacob is very charismatic, funny and knowledgeable. He knows how to tell a story and is very helpful in general knowledge of Rome and recommended places to visit/eat. He will answer all your questions.
If you have a free afternoon this tour could be an interesting way to learn something about the Jewish district and the Trastevere area. If you are staying in Rome for couple of days only - there are more interesting ways of spending your time - just take a walk to Trastevere and you will be fine too. Juliana is a very positive person and I am sure if you were more invested into the subject, you could ask questions to the guide and she would be happy to response.
We went on this walking tour the day before the ticketed visit to the Colosseum. It was a great option to learn something about the place, because later visiting we already knew many interesting facts. We ended up in a small group (5 people) which made it not so much fun - not many questions from the participants, enriching the experience. But I guess that’s not the tour guide fault, so overall good.
We were impressed by Jacobe's knowledge and his storytelling style. Very informative, but at the same time definitely not boring. I would recommend anyone to start their visit to Rome with this tour. With this walking tour throughout our stay we found more streets and squares connected to important Roman families. It was great!
