My husband and I retired last July, and have been full-time travelers for the past 7 1/2 months. We spent the first 3 months in the US (22 states) and Canada (7 provinces). The next 3 months we were in Florida and the Caribbean. Since February 1st, we have been in South America (Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and now Colombia). We also took a cruise to Antarctica, and just returned yesterday! This is our first time in Colombia, and we are excited to experience the rich culture!
My husband and I joined Michael (there were no other participants) for a nice historical overview of Cape Town. The tour was relatively brief (compared to many walking tours we've done around the world), but filled with interesting history of South Africa and Cape Town. Michael provided a good foundation, and we are looking forward to learning more detailed historical information through other walking tours as well as visits to museums, etc.
My husband and I enjoyed our walking tour of Nairobi with our knowledgable and friendly guide, Daniel. Great way to get an overview of this amazing city. Definitely recommend!
This is a nice overview/introduction to the historic center of Montpellier. The tour went at a nice pace, and we covered lots of the historic city's highlights. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the facts that were on her script, but she was less able to answer random history questions from participants. All in all, a good way to spend a couple of hours.
True to her description, this is not a traditional walking tour focused on history and architecture...but rather a fun overview of the modern-day city. Denise cleverly uses technology (WhatsApp) throughout the tour to share photos as well as recommendations. She actively engaged everyone in our group (of about 14 people, I think) and made sure everyone got what they wanted/needed out of the experience. Well done.
Although the tour was brief (less than 90 minutes), we enjoyed the overview of Cordoba from our friendly guide, Lucy. In addition to the usual history and stroll past the most touristy places (the Alcazar, the Mosque-Cathedral, etc.), Lucy also shared personal stories and took us into the beautiful (award-winning) "patio" of a local resident. If you prefer lots of detailed history, this probably isn't the tour for you. But if you want a brief overview and some recommendations from a local, this is a good option.
