Lo mejor de Oporto: tour en inglés en grupos reducidos

The majority of the tour was fine and our guide, Arthur, was fun and knowledgable. However, the tour was advertised to stop and discuss the Jewish Quarter of Porto but our guide walked right through it without mentioning a thing. When I asked him at the end of the tour, he said that he has stopped mentioning the centuries old Jewish presence in Porto since October 2023 due to the conflict in Israel. He said that he noticed people got uncomfortable when he talked about Jews so he stopped doing so and so did other guides. This was pretty gross and surprising to hear. It is not ok to erase Jewish history because of current political situations. Consider supporting another platform that recognizes and shares a complete history of Porto.

I would not repeat this tour. I missed a couple of places in the itinerary and the communication style of the tour disappointed me.

However, the tour had a total of 28 people. Pedro, the guide, is one of the best tour guides in the city, and he used microphone during the tour to manage sure everyone heard him. So it surprised us that you didn’t enjoy the tour and qualify us with a 2 stars review because you couldn’t listen because of the big group. We are so sorry that you couldn’t enjoy our tour because is the best tour in the city as you could see in the reviews. Hope you visit again Optimus tours have a lovely trip.

Disappointing for anyone who has a genuine interest in learning the fascinating history of the area and seeks knowledge and professionalism from their guide.
