Lies, stalking and even threats from the guide. Right from the beginning, the guide presented several pieces of incorrect information. For example, he claimed that during the Croatian EU accession referendum, around 79% of people voted against joining the EU, but the governmnent always finds loopholes and Croatia joined the EU anyway. This is incorrect as 66% of people who voted voted in favor. He mentioned a similar story about a referendum on accepting the Euro (which in reality never took place). He also mentioned few other historical misconceptions. He also gave a false (and potentially harmful) advise to the group - He claimed all public transport in Zagreb is free for tourists and that showing a foreign ID would suffice if caught without a ticket. There is no such official policy in Zagreb. When my partner pointed out inaccuracies and wanted to show verified information on his phone, the guide dismissed with "No need to use your phones, I live here, I am local and I know the truth." He also claimed to be the only tour guide in Zagreb who tells the truth, alleging that all others lie. Given these issues, we decided to leave the tour within the first 30 minutes (and did not leave a tip.) - We didn’t even intend to leave a negative review. However, the guide escalated the situation, stalked me and my partner on social media, leaving unpleasant and hateful comments, including vulgar language. He even contacted my employer and issued us threats. This experience was not only unprofessional but also deeply concerning.
Respuesta del GuruLol i just see this. This were not guests but paid thugs and hooligans. They came on purpose to cause troubles and problems. Absolute misarable and pathetic creatures, they were not interested in anything else except messing up my business. These low lifes are reason why this job is a nightmare, any other guide would kick them off the tour immediately after interfering with their tour but i did not do that - big mistake. Some guides would even alarm the authorities because Croatian law says if someone runs in the middle of service without paying they are comiting a crime. Does not matter the amount. I did not do anything about it because to be honest I was glad they left. They seemed drunk anyway.
