I loved the history and guide background and how he was able to talk about his childhood experiences as well as deep history of San Juan. Papa Lion actually took us into a grocery store to show us the local rum and coffee on the shelf-that was really cool. Only would have like to have seen the fort -which if we would have told him I am sure he would have made that happen just did not realize until the end that we did not cover that ground.
We had a great time with papa lion learning about the history of Puerto Rico and old San Juan.
If you want to see much of old San Juan, skip this tour. Our tour only traveled about 500m over two hours— no forts, no churches, and one plaza.
We had a very informative walking tour but was surprised when it ended as we gave him €20 and he said it was a minimum of €15 per person. The tour is described as a ‘free’ walking tour and you’re supposed to give what you feel the tour is worth.
