Hola, soy un guía turístico autónomo autorizado por el Gobierno de la India. Vivo en Jodhpur, una ciudad de Rajastán.
Rhapsody in Blue City! Delightful customised heritage walk. The Blue City is Manu’s neighbourhood and he has a passion for talking about every corner. This includes colourful street art, food and shopping. Ask him about the big arched doorways and the tiny, hidden doors. Ask him about the best ghevar or gulab jamon in the hood! Mix and match your sweet and savoury snacks. Try chai in a shaded square with Manuji.
Had an awesome time with Manu. He grew up in the Blue City so he knows it like the back of his hand. We got to meet his uncles sitting on street corners as we wound our way through the streets. Without him I would have been lost. We kind of merged a street food tour in with the blue city and I’m so glad we did. Living in the area, Manu knows all of the best places for every kind of yummy Indian sweet and savory snack, chai and lassi. It is well worth meeting up with Manu.
Gajinder took us to a tour of Jodhpur's old town and blue town. He showed us around as we could never had on our own: taking us to the nice spots, his favorite food joints, and going out of his way to accommodate our requests in the maze of Jodhpur's streets. His explanations were always on point, with interesting insights on Indian culture and Jodhpur's unique features. On our request, he took us to some very nice shops to buy local textiles and spices in the old town, the real places where the locals go and where you don't get continuously hassled by the sellers. Gajinder is a real local guide who's happy to show you his city. Wholeheartedly recommended!
This was a brilliantly organised and structured tour. Manu kindly changed up the tour according to what we wanted to prioritise seeing and what we had already visited in Jodhpur. So we ended up only visiting places which were new to us. It was very interesting and really good fun. I would really recommend this tour if you want to get an insight into the history of the blue city/old town, how people lived there in the past and the present day. We also got to see the fort from a viewpoint which made for a great picture during the golden hour just before sunset. We visited a temple also which was just as sunset happened and it was beautiful and the prayers were taking place inside the temple during this time, it was perfect and great timing! Many of these places we would not have found without being on this tour, it completely made our trip to Jodhpur!
