Very interesting tour, friendly tour guides, saw lots of temples and ghats including the main Manikharna Ghat. It was nice to be led walking around the back streets. The significant role of the Dom community in the cremation rituals was not shared which was disappointing given their crucial role in passing Hindu souls into the next life. Not least the extremely hard work of keeping pyres burning. At times testing our knowledge or calling us to attention reminded me of being in school. Perhaps something for the tour guides to reflect on. Overall a good tour and explanations of the Hindu belief system.
Interesting experience, lots of temples to see. Learnt a lot about Hindu gods and Sikh religion.
