Comprehensive overview of the city through an evening walk that starts at the monumental staircase of Trinità dei Monti and its imposing obelisk and ending at Piazza Navona with many stories, inside historical information, tips and fun facts. The guide Nick not only commands an excellent English but his dramatic and fun delivery sets him apart from the rest of the guides. Nick was also very generous with his time and went outside the tour description to explain things as we passed by. Great tour & highly recommended.
Diana was so gracious as to conduct the tour even though I was the only participant that showed up on that scorching afternoon. She is professional in her presentation and yet provided many fun facts throughout the various places we visited. We commenced from Dante's sculpture at Santa Croce, went through Palazzo Vecchio, the old city including Dante and Beatrice's old neighborhood and the various obscure but important churches along the way. Then on to Santa Maria del Fiore and ending with Basilica di San Lorenzo and the surrounding area. At Palazzo Vecchio, Diana knew every little detail, all the nucs and crannies, and the majority of the staff there and that was very helpful in understanding the historical progression and its interaction with Art. Diana spoke excellent English and I was fortunate to visit Palazzo Vecchio with her as she knew with time limitations what to see and talk about. Bravo & highly recommended.
The fact that we were only 3 walkers and this guide (Ludi) did not cancel the tour shows graciousness on her part. The tour was great which covered the back streets, few churches, and the non-touristy areas of Florence. Ms. Ludi also shared her favorite spots to eat and shop. Very good tour & guide and I highly recommend it.
This was the second tour I had with Haktan, and just like the first it was a great tour. Although the Grand Bazaar was unexpectedly closed, Haktan made up for it with much other information in his fun delivery style. I dare say that Haktan is one the best guides (if not outfight the best) I had the pleasure of touring with. Highly recommend this guide - thank you!
