The guide didn’t show up and didn’t answer any of my texts. So unprofessional and disrespectful for making us waste all that time waiting
The tour itself was overall good and Kun is knowledgeable about Chiang Mai. However, there are some issues that really need to be pointed out. My partner and I were the only two participants, and this was not communicated in advance. In a free tour, this lack of transparency puts people in an uncomfortable position, especially when it comes to the expected tip at the end. It would have been fair to clearly say: “You are only two people, so for this tour I expect this amount”, instead of leaving things vague. Before the tour, we received several messages mentioning a “minimum tip” ranging from 15€ to 50$ per person, which honestly makes little sense in Thailand. Thinking in baht, I did not immediately realize the actual amount being requested. At the end of the tour, we were then asked to pay this amount. In my opinion, asking for a minimum of 15 euros per person for a free tour is excessive, even by European standards. With a group of 10 people, that would mean 150 euros total. At that point, it is no longer a free tour, but essentially an undeclared private guided tour.
We had a great time seeing places we would have missed had we wandered by ourselves. Kan was very interesting and packed a lot into the 3 hour walk. The time flew by. The only shame was that there weren’t more people there to enjoy it with us. Thanks Kan.
Very nice, fun but very difficult to understand because of speed of talking .
